Senior Deployment Engineer
The Senior Deployment Engineer is a key member of the high performing team that is bringing an advanced lithium ion battery to market along with developing the proprietary manufacturing system that will produce this product. The successful candidate will have extensive involvement with all our functions including product development, manufacturing development, facilities, and operations teams and will be responsible for leading high-volume facility deployments globally with our partners. For this role, we need a highly collaborative team member with a strong industrial engineering background. Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic are key attributes of the successful candidate. This is an exciting opportunity to deploy a game-changing manufacturing platform across the world to transform lithium ion manufacturing. The role will report to Director, Product Engineering & Operations.
Lead high volume factory and facility design with our deployment partners globally
Create and manage equipment utility matrices for each factory deployment, working together with the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team and equipment vendors
Create and manage factory design tables outlining various facility requirements including room sizes, heights, utility requirements, and environmental conditions
Lead interactions with partners, including general contractors, project managers, and engineering firms through the factory design and construction phases
Assist in factory site selection as required
Create safe factory environments for our employees and partners, including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), facility safety systems, and more as required
Develop novel factory concepts to reduce capital facility costs, aligning with our process development roadmap
Support Director, Product Engineering and Operations with partner project management
Additional factory responsibilities and partner support as defined by our service agreements
Work closely with the AME team to gain an in-depth knowledge of all our processes
Assist in developing novel manufacturing processes that contribute to the establishment of our high-volume production system.
Integrate control parameters into the manufacturing process.
Required Skills and Experience
7+ years of relevant experience, ideal candidates will have direct experience with factory set up and installation, including working with general contractors, architects, EHS/regulatory, and MEP engineers
Lithium ion manufacturing experience preferred
Effective project management, balancing organization with speed
Proven ability to work with other companies and vendors
Highly motivated and action oriented as demonstrated by accomplishments
Demonstrated history of having a strong attention to detail
Thrives in a fast-paced environment. Able to juggle many competing tasks and priorities
Motivated to go beyond the job role? always seeking ways to improve, and opportunities to help at the “edges” of the job role
International and domestic travel is required
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
